The ceremony was held last Sunday 25th May 2008, in the presence of a select group of businessmen and companies, journalists, and number of Sama senior officials.
On this occasion, Andrew Cowen, CEO of Sama said:

Despite it being less than 15 months since Sama Airlines started its operations, the company recorded a number of major achievements. This is hopefully a further milestone towards our goal of becoming the preferred Low-Fare Carrier in the Middle East."
Sama started its operations on Mar 18th, 2007 with 4 domestic destinations and 3 aircraft, and now operates to 13 domestic and 10 international destinations with 7 aircraft.
Sama has recently celebrated reaching the milestone of 1,000,000 passenger bookings as a result of gaining the travellers confidence.
Sama flies to 13 domestic destinations (Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, Abha, Jizan, Hail, Arar, Jouf, Tabouk, Rafha, and Bisha) and 10 international destinations across the Middle East (Abu-Dhabi, Sharjah, Amman, Damascus, Latakia, Aleppo, Beirut, Alexandira, Asiut and Sharm Al-Sheikh).
