Les Jardins de Babylone will present vegetable walls at Hotel Show 2008 from 8th to 11th of June 2008 in Dubai

An occasion for the young company based in Ile de France to show its know-how in the realization of ecological gardens and design.

In the context of the importance of ecology and sustainable development issues, Les Jardins de Babylone proposes an original and patented decorative concept: the ecological vegetable wall 100%.

Either to equip external or interior spaces, Les Jardins de Babylone uses recycled synthetic materials, not taken in natural ecosystems (sphagnum).

On a first layer, made up of an absorbent fiber, optimized for its water holding capacity (7,2 liters per square meter), comes a second layer, in direct contact.

This system made up of alveolar foam, eliminating evaporation from water, is used as sponge for blocking the water evaporation and optimist thus the role of absorbent fibers.

Lastly, the third layer is out of micro polyethylene perforated to let evolve the seeds and escape the air released by the plants.

Thus, neither mushrooms nor algae can develop. Another asset of this plastic layer: it filters UV harmful for the gardens most exposed to the sun.

For the irrigation, the vegetable wall is self-feed thanks to a closed circuit. Water runs top of the wall, as a cascade, along the roots and finishes its course in a small vat from where it is recovered to be re-used.

For the decoration, Les Jardins de Babylone privileges cleansing plants which absorb surrounding atmospheric pollution, and offers to clients a catalogue of more than 400 different plants.

The plants are nourished by completely biological manure, which do not pollute water used, and by ecological pesticides.

With a density of plantation of 45 plants per square meter, the result is almost obvious at the first day.

In addition, the vegetable walls of Les Jardins de Babylone offer an original phonic and thermal insulation.

For each service, Les Jardins de Babylone proposes the design of vegetable wall and vertical garden (choice of plants, drawings of project), the supply of plants and materials, the installation and three months of maintenance (in Ile-de-France) or a half-day of training (if the project is in another French area or abroad).
