  • PRESS RELEASE

Rivoli Group, the leading luxury lifestyle retailer in the region, has announced a unique initiative in Corporate Social Responsibility in association with the Emirates Arthritis Foundation (EAF), aimed at creating awareness on the emergence of arthritis as a serious health issue in the UAE.

EAF, a non-profit organization, was launched under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and Dubai Bone and Joint Centre (DBAJ), the premier center for musculoskeletal treatment and research in the Middle East.

The foundation has been championing the cause of arthritis since its launch in 2006 and working towards the mission of providing quality life for arthritis patients through awareness, prevention, cure and control of this bone-related disease.

In the forthcoming summer sale at Al Boom Tourist Village to be held from June 5th to June 7th, the Rivoli Group will be helping EAF raise funds towards collecting resources for the launch of EAF's screening program for rheumatoid arthritis aimed at 1,000 residents across the UAE.

During the sale Rivoli will be providing EAF an appropriate platform for imparting information and spreading awareness about the disabling effects of arthritis.

They will support EAF to set up a stall where visitors can collect informative booklets about the disease and clarify their doubts and questions about arthritis with experts from the foundation who will be present there.

This initiative is a part of Rivoli's on-going Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. Last year, the luxury retailers had patronized a special Walkathon in support of arthritis.

This year, to further promote this worthy cause, the Rivoli Group has partnered Emirates Arthritis Foundation to support the organization's noble mission primarily by initiating fund raising activities and creating awareness of this disease which has the potential to physically cripple people of all ages if not detected on time.

Research done by EAF in the region clearly underlines a critical need for support because arthritis is still largely misunderstood, often misdiagnosed and very expensive to treat.

In an attempt to help change this scenario, The Rivoli Group has identified EAF as the most effective organization that can make a difference to those suffering from arthritis.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Ramesh Prabhakar, Managing Partner of The Rivoli Group, said: "Cure and awareness about any disease is not the concern of the government alone. As an established corporate group that has been functioning in the UAE since 1988, we took it upon ourselves to step forward and help shoulder the responsibility of tackling a disease that particularly requires attention and support. We are happy to whole-heartedly support EAF's relentless aspiration to increase awareness and render appropriate treatment for arthritis. We hope that together we can make a difference."
