In sync with this trend, the bank had a significant presence at the World Halal Congress Expo 2008 that was held at Dubai's Madinat Jumeirah from the 29th to the 31st of May 2008.

The event saw the coming together of the key players from five diverse sectors in which Shari'ah plays a prominent role.

'An event like the World Halal Congress Expo gave us the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded institutions that are working for the promotion of Islamic initiatives' said Mr. Faisal Aqil, General Manager of retail banking for Emirates Islamic Bank. 'Besides the significant amount of brand awareness and market mileage that we got out of being a part of the event, it also gave us the perfect platform to unveil our expansive portfolio of Shari'ah compliant products and services to a niche target audience that relates to our values and ethics' he added.

The bank has been always promoting Islamic lifestyle through a wide range of value added products and services, and the World Halal Congress Expo gave it another opportunity to showcase its innovative products to its target audience.
