Top Kia technician brings home gold

In the lead up to this year's Olympics, good omens come in the form of Al Majid Motors UAE as they bring home gold after taking out the competition at the recent Fourth Kia Skill World Cup.
"On behalf of this amazing victory, we were selected to participate in the fourth KIA Skill World Cup in Korea," said Technical & Training Manager Suleiman Al Said. "We are very happy to announce that our own Ahmed Al Abed, has been acknowledged as Kia's top technician worldwide with this gold medal."
55 candidates representing 44 different countries congregated at Chon An Training Centre in Seoul, Korea, for the competition which was held through April.
The first day of the competition involves a written, theoretical, test before the practical tests of the second day.
"Day two saw technicians from across the globe competing in the various skills of their industry," says Al Said.
The competition tested skills covering Engine Trouble Shooting on the vehicle; Engine Unit Mechanical; Chassis Trouble Shooting on the vehicle; Chassis Unit Mechanical; Electrical Trouble Shooting on the vehicle and Electrical Units.
"Gold price winner Mr. Ahmed Al Abed received the Gold Medal along with a cash award of $3000," says Al Said. "I myself received the 4th KIA Skill World Cup 2008 Flag to keep with us until the fifth World Cup in 2010."
