Zay is the sixth Embraer to join the RJ fleet; five Embraer 195s joined the company in the last two years, whereas the seventh will be assimilated later.
All Embraer aircraft service the regional and Middle Eastern routes.
In light of the fleet modernization program, the new, modern airliners that RJ recently contracted to assimilate will still join the fleet.
They include Airbus A321, A320, A319, Embraer 195 and Embraer 175 types.
These aircraft started joining the fleet since 2006, bringing the number of new aircraft so far to 15.
Three Airbus A319s and one Embraer 175 will join soon, at which time RJ will be operating 31 aircraft.
The Brazilian Embraer 175 is one of the best short-haul aircraft. It is known for the comfort it offers passengers, in addition to its operational features: economic, efficient fuel consumption. The aircraft seats 72 passengers: 12 on Crown Class and 60 on the Economy Class.
The airline designated names of Jordanian cities for the new aircraft that join the fleet, as a part of its mission to promote Jordan in the world.
The aircraft that joined the fleet are: Airbus A320s: Amman, Irbid, Aqaba, Madaba; Airbus A321: Salt, Karak, Ramtha, Tafila; Airbus A319: Mafraq; and Embraer aircraft: Jerash, Petra, Wadi Rum, Umm Qais, Ma'in and Zay. The remaining Airbus A319 aircraft are: Ma'an, Shobak, 'Ajloun and the Embraer 175 Dana.
