The company began work on deploying Windows Server 2008 late December 2007, and by mid-February, it had several servers running on the new operating system.

The company plans to have all of its Active Directory domain infrastructure running on Windows Server 2008 by the end of quarter two this year.

Through this new technology, Umniah is now able to increase the security of its IT infrastructure and systems by using the enhanced protection of various Infrastructure services.

It will also have a system-wide improvement in security standards compliance, an easier approach to standards enforcement, and an increase in system uptime.

Commenting on this development, Umniah's IT Director, Mr. Yaser Sghair said, 'Umniah is a progressive organization that is deeply committed to the speedy and steadfast development of the technological applications it adopts in its work. Our use of the new 2008 server operating system from Microsoft stems directly from our aims to enhance the proficiency of our operations and our levels of productivity.'

With the deployment of this progressive application, Umniah expects that it will be able to streamline some operational tasks.

It will be achieving this goal by using the tools and features this solution provides and with the promise that doing so will dramatically improve scalability and efficiency.

Enhanced levels of operational efficiency, will allow for further growth the company.

The IT department is to add new applications to servers as needed, s that it can establish stronger security policies for day to day operational tasks while automating the discovery of vulnerabilities and deviations in the security policies of Business-critical server computers across Umniah enterprise IT infrastructure.
