GBM wins major e-Government recognition

As part of its commitment to development of IT in the Kingdom, GBM was a premier sponsor of the Bahrain International e-Government Forum and one of their international experts delivered a keynote address at the event on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) in eGovernment.

The prestigious award for Best ICT Solutions Provider, was presented by H.E Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for ICT, Kingdom of Bahrain, to GBM Chairman Jalal Mohammed Jalal, as part of a series of awards for excellence and appreciation given to organisations that have contributed to the development of e-Government initiatives in Bahrain and the region over the years.

According to Abdulla Ishaq, General Manager for Bahrain Business Machines (BBM), the Bahrain operation of GBM, "GBM has consistently worked with the Government of Bahrain in developing initiatives that transform e-Government concepts into reality. We fully support the e-Government drive as we know from experience that successful implementation of these citizen-centric initiatives can result in a better and richer life for all".

The Bahrain International e-Government Forum assembled international and regional experts to discuss and debate the key issues and future directions in e-Government. It offered a unique opportunity to learn from e-Government practitioners, and to investigate the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) e-Government market by bringing together the very latest solutions and the brightest minds in Government and industry,
