The seminar was attended by a host of NBK's VIP clients as well as the bank's senior officials headed by CEO, NBK Group Ibrahim S. Dabdoub, NBK CEO - Kuwait Isam J. Al Sager, NBK DCEO - Kuwait Adel Al Majed & NBK DCEO - Kuwait Shaikha Al Bahar.
In his presentation, Mobius provided the audience with a comprehensive insight into his Company's amazingly unique and pioneering experience in international investing in general and investing in emerging markets in particular, where Templeton runs offices in 13 major global emerging market centers staffed with 55 professionals, including 33 portfolio managers and investment analysts managing about USD 50 billion worldwide.
Mobius also highly commended the distinctive performance of the National Bank of Kuwait and the progressive success being achieved with respect to regional and international expansion strategy. He also lauded the regulatory role played by the Central Bank of Kuwait which guarantees an invulnerable financial system against any possible crisis similar to the current subprime crisis.
The seminar was concluded with a dialogue and Q&A session, during which Mobius shed light on latest opportunities available in the emerging markets all over the world.
Dr. Mobius boasts one of the highest profiles of any expert in the field of finance and investment. He is regarded as one of the top 100 most powerful and influential people and one of the most successful emerging markets investors over the last 20 years.
Mobius, who is currently the Managing Director of Templeton Asset Management, earned his PhD. in economics and political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and joined Templeton in 1987 as president of the Templeton Emerging Markets Fund, Inc. He presently directs the analysts based in Templeton's 11 emerging markets offices and manages the emerging markets portfolios.
Dr. Mobius spent more than 30 years working in emerging markets all over the world. He is also the author of numerous books, the most prominent of which are; 'Trading with China', 'The Investor's Guide to Emerging Markets', 'Mobius on Emerging Markets', 'Passport to Profits', 'Equities - An Introduction to the Core Concepts', 'Mutual Funds - An Introduction to the Core Concepts' and 'Mutual Funds'.
