- PRESS RELEASE
HP Middle East celebrated the 20th anniversary of the HP Deskjet printer, the world's top-selling printer brand.
"Twenty years after its first introduction, the HP Deskjet continues to deliver on its original value proposition of quality, reliability, affordability and ease of use," said Sherifa Hady, Consumer Business Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East. "We are thrilled by this achievement because it represents a very strong endorsement from our customers all over the world. Deskjets have successfully brought printing closer to consumers worldwide, making it the world's most loved printer."
The HP DeskJet paved the way for HP to become the world leader in thermal inkjet technology. Today, the HP DeskJet continues to change the way people work with its latest models being Energy Star® compliant with ink cartridges newly molded from recycled plastic resins, while the mobile products allow printing directly from computers, PDAs, cameras, and memory cards.
"It is celebration time at HP. What the DeskJet did - and is still doing today - is to open personal printing to everyone."
HP Deskjet advances through two decades
Launched in February 1988, the HP Deskjet was the world's first single-sheet, desktop printer. The reliable HP Deskjet featured an average speed of just 2 pages per minute (ppm).
Today, the HP Deskjet has transformed into a high-speed, lightweight printer with a multitude of features from wireless connectivity to intuitive software and hardware installation for quick and easy setup. Ideal for printing everyday document and photos, current HP Deskjet models print up to 36 ppm.
