UAE ministry appoints new nurses

Amidst a shortage of nurses in the UAE, the country's Ministry of Health has approved the recruitment of all graduates of the Ras Al Khaimah Nursing Institute of the past few years, reported Gulf News. The head of RAK's medical district said the graduate nurses and their families had complained that they had not received appointments on completion of their studies. Meanwhile, the emirate's hospitals and medical centres suffered from nurse shortages which forced many of them to reduce services and beds. The new nurses are expected to go on duty within the next few days.
