Surprise Modhesh visit to children warms hearts
- Bahrain: Saturday, June 07 - 2008 at 14:39
- PRESS RELEASE
Modhesh, the much loved mascot began the annual Modhesh Goodwill Tour to visit children's hospitals around the region with a surprise appearance at the Royal Hospital in Oman & Hope Centre for Children with Special Needs in Bahrain.
"These visits come in line with the corporate social responsibility of Modhesh as a lovable caring Character and a true friend for all children. Our goal is to bring hope and a happy memory for hospitalized children which will lift their spirits and put a smile on their faces," said Laila Suhail, CEO, Dubai Shopping Festival Office.
"It is always deeply moving to witness the effect Modhesh has on these young children. As adults we often forget the innocence and sense of wonder young children have and how a few moments can contain a great meaning and a lasting memory."
Modhesh will be making a lot of similar appearances all through the year, but after this year's Goodwill Tour Modhesh will head home to attend the opening of Dubai Summer Surprises 2008, which is scheduled to take place 19 June to 22 August. Modhesh will use his emblematic blend of energy, gusto and magnetism to bring joy and happiness to children around the region and the world.
"Modhesh is an embodiment of good, kindness and universal values and we believe that we do have a responsibility to reach out to young people, not only to the children of our own community, but also to children across the region and internationally as well. It is a small gesture but if we can touch the hearts of a few children it is worth it," concluded Suhail.
