- Oman: Sunday, June 08 - 2008 at 09:58
- PRESS RELEASE
Ahli Bank-Oman has rolled out its first batch of Automated Teller Machines (ATM) across the Sultanate in seven prominent locations including the Main Branch in Wattaya and at the Bank's branches in Sur, Sohar, Nizwa, Seeb, Salalah and Ibri.
Commenting on the plans of creating a strong ATM Network across the Sultanate, Mr. AbdulAziz Al Balushi, CEO, Ahli Bank said, "Ahli Bank is in its first year of operation as a full-fledged commercial bank.
Our (Ahli Bank's) focus on retail banking crucially includes our remote banking service channels and the new ATMs are part of the Bank's commitment to enhance its delivery channels, increase customer service levels and enable the bank to customise its financial operations.
The new machines, encompassing full ATM functionality, will significantly help to reduce customers' dependence on the bank for routine financial transactions. Earlier this year, Ahli Bank joined OmanSwitch facilitating a free-of-charge access to more than 500 ATMs across the Sultanate for all its customers."
Ahli Bank plans to launch other remote banking services for customers to carry out banking operations easily and conveniently, and to manage and control their accounts without leaving their house.
These include SMS banking, e-banking and Call Centre facilities.
Elaborating on the future plans of the Bank, Al Balushi added, "This year will witness the launch of highly competitive and well-researched products and services for our customers in Oman. With these, Ahli Bank wants to ensure that its customers have the advantage of dealing with a bank that offers a broad range of continuously enhanced facilities and services. We are currently developing well-researched Retail and Corporate products to cater to the Omani market.
The transformation of Ahli Bank from the erstwhile Alliance Housing Bank has translated into the establishment of a focused, innovative and customer focused financial services organization in the Omani Market.
The Bank has diversified its business portfolio with varied activities, including retail and corporate banking, while carefully differentiating the needs of the premium and private banking as well as the SME segments.
The Bank has successfully launched new deposit products and loan products which are competing with the best products in the market.
These include MyLoan, a consumer loan for Omanis and expatriates, MyHome, the home loan from the experts in housing finance; MyHadeya fixed deposit, MySmart fixed/current deposit and MySaver savings accounts.
