RTA completes maintenance of Dubai - Al Ain Rd bridges

Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) announced the completion of corrective maintenance works on a number of bridges at Dubai - Al Ain Road.
These works are part of a comprehensive maintenance program that covers all vital elements of key roads & transport network in the emirate of Dubai.
Nazim Faisal, Director of Maintenance Department at RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, explained that such maintenance works, which started in November 2007, included inspection of the constructional status, corrective maintenance works to treat superficial cracks and painting of six bridges.
These bridges include Bridge No. 1 (Nad el Sheba Bridge or Shooting Club Bridge), Bridge No. 2 (Minhad Bridge), Bridge No. 3 (Hatta Bridge), Bridge No. 4 (Al Lesaili Bridge), Bridge No. 5 (Morghim Bridge), and Bridge No. 6 (Murqab Bridge).
"Despite the elapse of about 20 years since the construction of most of these bridges, the results of periodical inspections carried out by Maintenance Dep't proved that they are in a good constructional condition. RTA used to inspect these facilities under the supervision of highly professional experts.
Full periodical & corrective maintenance works are continuously carried out in accordance with the best practices to safeguard roads & transport network and maintain it in the best operational condition in accordance with quality, safety & environment standards.
"These maintenance works are part of the persistent efforts of the RTA to upgrade roads network in the emirate and uplift their operational condition to the highest technical standards. Such a process involves refurbishment and upgrading of key roads, crossings and bridges in the emirate in conformity with RTA strategy & ongoing efforts to cope with the urban development and demographic growth in the emirate.
