Attendees were impressed by the facilities, services, and amenities featured by the unique multi-purpose, 227-hectare development, which will be the world's first city to incorporate green building principles in the design and construction of all buildings.

The biennial event provided significant exposure to Dubai Maritime City and the Middle East's rapidly-developing maritime sector; as it gathered more than 16,000 visitors, 1,710 exhibitors, around 300 Greek and international journalists, and several shipowners and senior executives to the prestigious industry assembly. The city joined other prominent UAE organisations such as the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority; Sharjah Ports; Drydocks World Dubai; GMMOS Group; and NICO International in promoting the Gulf region's transformation into a sophisticated global port of call.

"Posidonia provided the perfect platform for Dubai Maritime City to raise its profile to the international arena. The global shipping industry recognizes the importance of the Middle Eastern corridor, given its strategic location at the middle of major Eastern and Western shipping lanes; the City will continue to capitalize on this reputation to achieve its goal of becoming a preferred destination and an international model of sustainable maritime services,"

said Nawfal Al Jourani, Chief Marketing Officer, Dubai Maritime City.

More than 80 countries and territories were represented at the five-day industry event, reflecting the broad global reach and industry appeal of Posidonia. International delegates commended Dubai Maritime City's commitment to strict environmental compliance and long-term sustainability, particularly its emphasis on balancing working and living conditions throughout the complex.

"Dubai Maritime City ushers in a new age in maritime services; the positive international response to this first-of-its kind centre will definitely lead to the development of similar projects focusing on environmental sustainability, flexibility, and the full spectrum of maritime services. We look forward to continue being a vehicle to showcase this innovative and world-class complex," concluded Themistocles Vokos, Chairman, Posidonia Exhibitions."

Dubai Maritime City, a member of the multi-billion dollar Dubai World Group of companies, is currently undergoing its third and final phase of construction, which mainly involves the expansion of its electricity, fire, water, and telecommunication service networks. Upon its completion, the City will feature Harbour Offices; Harbour Residences; the Maritime Centre; a Marina District; a Dubai Maritime City Campus; and an Industrial Precinct which includes 3,000- and 6,000-tonne ship lifts.
