Young Arab Leaders organises 'Top Talent Leadership Camp'

This program is being organized in Germany, for the 2nd consecutive year in association with the German luxury carmaker and worldwide largest truck manufacturer, Daimler AG.

TTLC aims to bring together selected graduates from Arab countries with young European talents at an early stage of their personal and career development.

26 young professionals from diverse backgrounds such as Marketing, Finance, Media and other industries have been selected to participate in the first module of TTLC being held from May 31st to June 5th 2008 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Half of the participants have been selected by the YAL Committee and are from Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, KSA, Lebanon, UAE and Yemen and the other half have been selected by the Daimler side and will be from Europe, Singapore and the Middle East.

The target group comprises of graduates in the age group of 20 - 30 years, with 2-3 years of work experience. Participants will experience global business challenges in the Arab and European context that will impact future thinking and growth.

Speaking about the TTLC, Assem O. Kabesh, CEO of Young Arab Leaders said, "Each of our initiatives aims to create unique opportunities for our Youth, and prepare them to be future leaders in diverse fields. Efforts like this program prove our promise to deliver a better tomorrow and to invest in our youth who will guide the transition and give a progressive direction to the way business is conducted in the fast evolving global economy."

The Top Talent Leadership Camp is now in its 2nd year and we will continue to focus on knowledge exchange in entrepreneurship, leadership development and education."

The six-day Module I of TTLC included a Keynote by Dr. Ruediger Grube and 'Action-Learning' workshops on leadership aspects with renowned consultants with Business, European Union and Intercultural Management background. The agenda also included offsite visits to companies such as AMG and The Daimler Truck Plant. The program ended with a closing ceremony in the Mercedes Benz Museum.

Teams from a diverse cultural and functional background were formed during Module 1. After the end of Module 1, these teams will work together on assigned case studies on a virtual basis for the 6 months Interim Phase. At the end of the interim phase Module 2 of TTLC will be held in Dubai in December.

The work during the Interim phase will be supported by key virtual tools that YAL has introduced. One of the virtual tools is a workspace to be used as a platform for exchange of knowledge and information on the program and case studies, as well as to have participants link throughout program.

The second, very important tool is a Web Meeting portal that will hold virtual meetings with teams to update each other on current challenges and monitor progress of project work. During the 6 months Interim Phase, two virtual meetings per team will be held that will be facilitated by a YAL consultant.
