Emaar Properties has announced plans to build one of the largest water fountains in the world as part of its Downtown Burj Dubai development. The fountain, which will be located in Burj Lake, will be able to shoot water over 500 feet high - equivalent to that of a 50-storey building. It will also feature extravagant lighting with over 6,600 lights and 50 colour projectors. The total cost of the lake, fountain and its advanced filtrations systems is $218m.
