Gulf Finance House sponsors national football team during World Cup qualifiers
- Bahrain: Tuesday, June 10 - 2008 at 12:52
- PRESS RELEASE
The Gulf Finance House (GFH) announced its sponsorship of the national football team's two qualifying matches for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
GFH Regional Head of UAE, Oman & Yemen Market of Investment Placement Mr. Mohammed Al Nusuf said, "The decision by GFH to become the main sponsors of the national football team for its matches against Thailand and Oman in the qualifying round of the FIFA World Cup Asian qualifiers is based on several factors.
GFH feels its responsibility to be a good corporate citizen in Bahrain calls for it to sponsor such events that have appeal across a broad spectrum of the population.
At the same time, the sponsorship is consistent with one of the core components of our corporate social responsibility programme - sporting excellence.
We have chosen that component because we think it is an excellent way to reach Bahraini youth and instill in them the discipline and elements of teamwork that are necessary later in life.
We could not think of a better way to support such excellence other than through the sponsorship of the Bahrain national football team.
We hope that our sponsorship will offer practical support for the players who are a shining example to the next generation of young Bahrainis.
We wish the players the best of luck as they seek to qualify for the Asian qualifiers of the 2010 FIFA World Cup."
