Nissan GT-R Chief Vehicle Engineer and Chief Product Specialist, Kazutoshi Mizuno, along with his team arrived specially from Japan to conduct several tests as part of the local assessment programme before the supercar is introduced to Middle East markets in early 2009.

Nissan GT-R's recent achievement was a lap record at the famous Nurburgring in Germany last April with a time of 7m 29s.

The Nissan GT-R used was a base specification car and fitted with the standard Japanese market tires.

'At last year's testing, we were frustrated by the conditions at the Nurburgring, always believing that the GT-R could go under seven minutes 30 seconds,' said Kazutoshi Mizuno.

'Below seven minutes 30 seconds, the GT-R proves it is among the fastest mass-production cars in the world. We set out to build a multi-performance supercar accessible to anyone, anytime and anywhere - I believe the GT-R has delivered that promise.'

Already a legend in automotive design and engineering, the GT-R is one of the world's fastest vehicles, accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds, yet is probably the world's easiest and most secure high speed car to drive fast.

The GT-R is a truly world-class super-car, powered by a brand new V6 3.8-litre twin turbo engine, mating great horsepower (480 Hp), a wide torque spread, good fuel economy and low emissions.

The engine powers an independent transaxle 4WD system (a world first) that continuously adjusts torque front-to-rear and vice versa.

A new six-speed paddle shift dual-clutch gearbox featuring the exceedingly quick gearshift plus full automatic function for ease-of driving.

The lightweight body features diecast aluminium, carbon fibre and advanced steel and has a class-leading aerodynamic Cd of just 0.27, one of the world's slickest cars.

Dampers, gear shift and VDC-R (Vehicle Dynamic Control) are all manually adjustable, by simple switches on the dashboard.

The GT-R includes a multi functional instrument display, designed by the people who did the graphics of the Sony PlayStation Gran Turismo game.
