In line with this, Autodesk has named ProMedia as its new value added reseller in Qatar.

At present, ProMedia is undertaking major strides to effectively market Autodesk solutions amidst the country's booming construction sector.

As the Government of Qatar continues to strengthen its sustainable design initiatives in the construction sector, Autodesk and ProMedia are poised to highlight the outstanding features of the new Autodesk Revit solutions and AutoCAD 2009 software to both government agencies and private developers.

Designed for Building Information Modeling (BIM), the Revit solutions are comprised of Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP, which enable testing and analysis of new and better materials, while considerably reducing waste production.

Providing efficient conceptual design, drafting and detailing solutions, AutoCAD 2009 facilitates efficiency and productivity by improving the output of veteran users while allowing new users to become prolific more quickly.

"As we seek a stronger presence in the region, we made a decision to add ProMedia into our pool of resellers. We have confidence in ProMedia's capability to capitalise on the booming market in Qatar. At present, we are gearing up for a massive penetration drive in this market and we are looking forward to aiding the Qatar Government's initiatives to enforce the implementation of sustainable design solutions for current and future developments,"
said Manish Bhardwaj, Field Marketing Specialist, Autodesk, Middle East.

Qatar's massive oil and gas reserves act as a catalyst that drives the growth of its most important industries such as the real estate sector. As the country continues to witness outstanding growth in its gross domestic product (GDP), which is expected to reach 13.5% in 2009, massive cash flow is being channeled to large-scale investments in high profile real estate developments creating high demand.

To leverage the massive demand for residential and commercial projects, local and foreign developers are looking for solutions that will enhance architects' and structural engineers' efficiency and productivity.

"From a technology point of view, our focus is to provide state-of-the-art design solutions and innovative technologies, which will meet our customers' needs, amidst the booming demand for built space and increasing clamour for 'green technologies' implementation. With our fresh approach for the Qatari market and the deployment of a strong team that will provide service, insight, training and support to our Qatar-based customers, we are expecting our partnership with Autodesk to yield favorable results," concluded Nidhin Raj, Business Development Manager, ProMedia.
