This initiative included three main areas such as designing a consistent framework for competencies and professional skills within the federal government, skills description and finally the assessment of skills for the 300 participants from across all professional levels.

The development of a consistent framework covered eight key areas such as leadership, strategic thinking, customer service, planning, administration, and technical skills. In the definition of skills, the course covered leadership and the latest world class practices in this sector.

The third part of the program was based on an assessment based on skills and how these matched with specific careers - this included leadership and qualifications - and highlighted factors that determine career development and motivation.

Mariam Mohammed, eCompetency Center Manager, said:

'Applying modern development programs helps in standardizing work methodologies, culture and institutional identities. It also supports the creation of a fundamental basis for development programs, training and systems for employees in the federal government. Through this program we were keen on offering the latest methods of skill development training in order to help increase the efficiency of the participating ministries.'
