  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, June 11 - 2008 at 12:59
  • PRESS RELEASE

National Bonds, the Sharia-compliant national savings scheme of the UAE, recently launched a summer family rewards promotion where bondholders stand to win prizes worth Dhs1.5m in addition to the monthly 26,318 prizes worth Dhs5m.

The promotion will run until July 31, 2008.

As part of the promotion, anyone can purchase a minimum of Dhs100 or more in bonds to be eligible to qualify for a draw, which will be held in the first week of August.

According to Mohammad Qasim Al Ali, CEO of National Bonds Corporation, "The promotion is to reward families with money to fund future needs such as education, marriage and mortgage down payments, upon return from their summer vacation. In essence, idle cash that is lying in their accounts during this period can actually gain them rewards and profits that can be used to cover impending family expenses.

"As everyone's favourite place to save, we wanted to offer prizes that were life-changing to our bondholders. Getting married, obtaining a good education and purchasing property are indeed significant milestones in every individual's life. By providing the initial support, we hope to help our bondholders achieve their lifelong ambitions," he added.

In conjunction with the promotion, special kiosks will be set up in leading UAE malls, including Ibn Batuta Mall, Dubai Festival City, Sahara Centre, Marina Mall Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Mall.

Visitors to the malls will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits of investing in a simple, safe and profitable option such as National Bonds and purchase bonds from the kiosks.

Visitors can also have the opportunity to have their photographs taken at the kiosk as an exclusive National Bonds souvenir.

National Bonds can be purchased from over 300 outlets nationwide, including exchange houses and banks.

These include Emirates Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Sharjah Islamic Bank and exchange houses: Al Ansari, Al Fardan, Al Ghurair, Redha Al Ansari, Al Rostamani International, UAE Exchange, Wall Street and Lari Exchange.
