  • PRESS RELEASE

Qatar Fuel 'WOQOD' in keeping with its commitment to preserve the environment has announced its participation in Qatar Petroleum's Environment Fair.

As part of its involvement, WOQOD will give away to the public, 10,000 Sidra trees to be planted all over Qatar.

The event is one of the largest exhibitions staged in the region and attracts thousands of visitors and has been organised to promote environmental awareness especially among children and young adults as well as their families.

The initiative brings together leading companies in Qatar in a co-ordinated approach to ensure environmental responsibility in support of international regulations.

WOQOD's participation in this event is proof of its strategy to implement environmental policies that create sustainable ecosystems.

WOQOD intends to offer recycling points at its service stations to encourage their customers to properly dispose their waste paper, plastic, glass and aluminium.

WOQOD's Vapour Recovery System helps to transform vapour into liquid fuel to avoid venting vapour into the air, thus cutting down on emissions.

The Water Recycling System allows WOQOD to reuse waste water in the carwash stations.

This system treats 100% of used water, of which 90% is reused in the carwash station.

It also possesses a system which is fitted in underground storage tanks to detect leakages in the inner walls of the fuel tanks allowing the prevention of soil pollution.

WOQOD reclaims 4000 litres of used lubricants every month and a third party recycles them.

The environment is a part of WOQOD's brand identity as its products and services draw inspiration from Qatari flora and fauna.

WOQOD's brand, the Sidra tree, shares the company's values and approach to business practice.

The Sidra tree, endemic to Qatar, is a tough tree, able to thrive in Qatar's desert-environment with minimum maintenance.

Many families have lived with the Sidra tree in their gardens.

It provides shade from the sun and beautifies the desert landscape.

WOQOD will continue to launch more programs and develop systems with a strong focus on encouraging its' customers to contribute to preserving the ecological balance.
