The interactive training sessions were conducted by Leslie Grogan, a London-based hospitality industry trainer and consultant, at Shangri La Hotel Qarayat Al Beri Abu Dhabi.
This was the second workshop conducted by her for the Abu Dhabi hoteliers.
'One of the major challenges that the hospitality industry in Abu Dhabi faces is staff retention and training,' said Leslie, whose training programmes have been tried in a wide range of 'live' environments including five-star hotels, casual theme restaurants, Michelin-rated operations and event caterers in culturally diverse destinations like New York and London.
'The best way to excel in the high-performance environment is continuous incremental improvement in their performance across a broad spectrum of operations, ranging from sales to operations and, more importantly, customer satisfaction,' she said.
Nasser Al Reyami, Director of Licensing and Classification at ADTA, said: 'The infrastructural and human capital development must go hand in hand. ADTA plays an active role in providing opportunities for our industry partners to grow and develop along with the demand and at the speed at which the overall emirate is progressing.'
