Emirates NBD sponsors travel and accommodation costs of 40 of the UAE football team fans

As part of its commitment to continuously sponsor key sporting, cultural and educational activities in the country, Emirates NBD has sponsored the travel and accommodation costs of 40 UAE Nationals.

25 of these Nationals are employees of the group and fans of the UAE Senior Football team. This comes as part of the group's efforts to support the UAE National team's game against Kuwait in Kuwait tonight (Saturday 14 June 2008).

The game will be held today as part of the Asian qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. All the four competing teams in Group 5: Iran, UAE, Syria and Kuwait - have a chance to reach the second round.

Currently, Iran leads with 6 points, followed by the UAE and Syria with 5 each. Kuwait comes next with 4 points, with 2 matches remaining in their campaign.

Commenting on their support of the UAE team, Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Emirates NBD said:

"We are glad to support our National team and this comes as part of our commitment to continuously support and participate in key events and activities in the country and I would like to take this opportunity to wish good luck to our National team in his game tonight and would like to affirm our commitment to support the team in the future."


Tonight's game is expected to be very competitive as both teams are competing to win the three points and strengthen their position in Group 5.
