The Raffles Campus School of Hospitality will offer Hospitality Management programmes in collaboration with Australia's Box Hill Institute, one of the premier multipurpose Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutes in the world.

The School will be located at Umm Suqeim and will have a capacity of 1,500 students. Courses are offered on a full-time and part-time basis.

Students will be required to undergo industrial attachments as an integral part of the course, which would offer opportunities for employment.

The Raffles Campus School of Hospitality also offers customized courses to employees of organizations in the hospitality industry such as hotels, resorts, recreational clubs and food and beverages outlets.

Mr Boon Yew Ng, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Education LLC, said:

'Skills and competency-based education and training is a key focus of Emaar Education. The hospitality sector is one of the fastest growing business sectors in the region, evolving in tune with the impressive tourism growth. It is important to build a skilled and competent workforce for the industry. The Raffles Campus School of Hospitality will train and equip students with the industry best practices, and create a talent pool of professionals for the hospitality sector.'

All programmes offered by Raffles Campus School of Hospitality adhere to the guidelines and standards laid down in The Australian Quality Training Framework that ensure high quality skills and competency based education and training.

Mr Boon Yew Ng said:

'There are several differentials of the Raffles Campus School of Hospitality. With the Emaar Education global network of campuses, students will have the opportunity of working in culturally diverse environments - a critical aspect of hospitality management - by undertaking part of the programme in the overseas campuses, currently in Singapore, Vietnam and India.'

He added: 'At the Raffles Campus School of Hospitality, Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage functions and Kitchen operations are conducted by industry specialists and practitioners. Students will undertake hands-on practicals in mock-up training facilities and industrial attachments to better prepare and equip them for the challenges in a real-life environment. Assessments will be made on a continuous basis to monitor the progress of the students. The internationally-recognised award will allow graduates to pursue higher education in universities globally, if they so wish.'

Students are trained in workplace skills at an operational and supervisory level including: front office services, bar and waiting skills, food & beverages knowledge, housekeeping, customer service and occupational health and safety skills, among others. For kitchen operations, the School will be offering diverse courses in culinary skills.

Registration for the courses is now open. Applicants can log on to Emaar Education website or call 04 427 1300 for more details.

In addition to the Schools of Hospitality Management, Emaar Education runs five international schools and nurseries in Dubai, one international school in Singapore, one international school to open in July in India and plans to open several new institutions in the region.

The international schools offer three different internationally-renowned curricula: American High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate Diploma and Cambridge University's International General Certificate of Education - Advanced Level.
