Nakheel's Waterfront receives sustainability accolade at Facilities Management Awards

Nakheel, one of the world's largest and most innovative real estate developers, has won the Sustainable Initiative Award for its Waterfront Palm Canal Towers development at the inaugural Facilities Management Middle East Awards 2008.
The inaugural Facilities Management Middle East Awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Dubai, set out to raise the profile of the industry and reward and recognise those that have made significant contributions to its development. The award categories cover a number of fields from excellence in customer service to facilities management.
Matt Joyce, Nakheel Managing Director, Waterfront said:
"It is a fantastic honour for Waterfront to be recognised at the Facilities Management Middle East Awards. The LEED certification, which highly impressed award judges, recognises the efforts made by Nakheel to develop corporate and social responsibility. This award reinforces our commitment to delivering a world class sustainable development."
Palm Canal Towers is one of the first high-rise developments in the beach fronted Madinat Al Arab district in Waterfront. It will comprise of six mixed-use towers.
Located on the western shores of Dubai, the entire Waterfront development will transform 1.4 billion square feet of empty desert and sea into an international community for an estimated population of 1.5 million people that is twice the size of Hong Kong Island.
