Dubai Summer Surprises reveals details for a grand Opening Ceremony on June 19

The Dubai Summer Surprises has revealed the details of the Opening ceremony that will take place on June 19 at the Dubai Dolphinarium in Creek Park and watched by about 800 people to mark the beginning of the eleventh edition of the region's biggest summer event.

The high-profile event will feature extravagant settings along with shows of exceptional standards that will be broadcast live on SAMA Dubai TV.

The announcement was made through a press conference that was held at the Dubai Dolphinarium on June 15, and attended by Ibrahim Saleh, General Coordinator of DSF Office; Ahmed Abdul Kareem, Director of Public Parks and Horticulture Department, Dubai Municipality; Christopher Richardson, Managing Director of Dubai Dolphinarium; and Michael Touito, well-known French director of Dubai Shopping Festival 2008 Opening Ceremony.

Ibrahim Saleh said,

"On June 19th, the stage of Dubai Dolphinarium will be set for the most amazing show that Dubai has witnessed - a unique concept, an outstanding fusion of light and sound effects along with the astonishing skills of the friendly dolphins and sea lions. For 40 minutes, the 800 invitees in Dubai Dolphinarium along with the viewers of SAMA Dubai TV will be mesmerized by this demonstration of international standards orchestrated by the well known French Director Michelle Tuito."


"Our show also has a message. Conceptualizing on the Greener community direction adopted by the Government of Dubai, Dubai Summer surprises aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment and marine life to make our planet a better place for future generations. The show also coincides with the World Environment Day that the whole globe celebrated a few days back," he added.

Ahmed Abdul Kareem said, "The Dubai Dolphinarium is one of the initiatives of Dubai Municipality in the continuing efforts to highlight environment related issues and the necessity for sustainable development in the future. This facility is among the most modern edutainment destinations in Dubai today."

"Dubai Dolphinarium is just one of a series of quality entertainment projects embraced by Dubai Municipality that will come up in Dubai Creek Park. As a member of the DSS Organizing Committee, it is our endeavour to enhance and enrich the experience of visitors and residents in Dubai not only through events but by providing recreational and world-class public utility services that match the status of a vibrant city like Dubai," he added.

Christopher Richardson said, "The Dolphinarium is an edutainment destination of remarkably high standards and we are extremely delighted to be associated with DSS for the Opening Ceremony. As a venue catering to all visitor categories, the Dolphinarium relates very much to DSS events that provide entertainment to visitors of all ages and segments."

Christopher also added that all morning shows for the week, in addition to shows scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday would be cancelled due to the preparations for the Dubai Summer Surprises opening ceremony.

Michael Touito, renowned French event director explained some of the elements incorporated into the DSS Opening Ceremony and emphasized the inclusion of spectacular special effects for the show.

The eleventh edition of DSS will last for 65 days from June 19 to August 22 and highlight the change in the entertainment concept through the Tens of Surprises where a new event will be organized every other day.
