Saudi Arabia announced yesterday that it would boost oil production by 200,000bpd, following a meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. The decision is expected to be confirmed at the oil summit being hosted by the kingdom on 22 June. This follows an earlier decision to raise production by 300,000 in June in order to head off continued price surges.
