Sales YTD (January-May) have grown by 32% throughout the Middle East and Levant region over the same period last year.

"Sales in May continued to show encouraging sustained growth", said Trent Barcroft, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Chrysler International - Regional Centre Middle East. "Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge international sales have now registered growth for thirty-six straight months. We're quite optimistic about the year ahead, and are looking forward to further increasing our marker share".

This marked increase is in line with the overall success Chrysler International has achieved worldwide in the month of May 2008, which marks three straight years of year-over-year sales growth in markets outside North America.

Chrysler International sales for the month grew by 5% (21,505 units) compared to May 2007, establishing a new record for the best May sales in the company's history.

Year-to-date sales were up 7% (98,188 units) versus the same time period last year, driven by a vehicle line-up that offers customers fuel-efficient and versatile options.

The Company's operations outside North America have been experiencing year-over-year sales increases since 2004, with a record number of vehicles sold in 2007.

"The increase in our sales reflects the growing appeal of our latest models to individual customers," added Barcroft.

"Through 2008 we have continued our strategy to favour retail sales and the immense efforts put in by our distributors in the region has paid off."

"Chrysler's success in the Middle East demonstrates that our newest products are meeting the needs of the region's consumers and attracting new buyers to our brands," continued Barcroft.

"We will work to continue to expand our business by listening to customers in the Middle East and Levant, expanding our dealer network and offering vehicles that are suited to meet their diverse needs."

Dodge continues to expand its line-up in the Middle East - with the Dodge Challenger due to make its first appearance in the region later this year and the Caliber SRT4 also scheduled for launch, the appeal of the brand is set to strengthen even further.

The expanded Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge range now offers a diverse and exciting range of models, from sedans to 4x4's, that cater to every market segment.
