Emaar.E.C had earlier awarded a contract worth SR250m to Huta Group for the development of man-made water canals with supporting walls, over a total area of 1.9 million cubic m. which is set for completion later this year.
Mr Al-Rasheed said:
"KAEC include several aesthetic components such as water canals that add to the appeal of the Residential Communities and Resort District. It is important to work with established and experienced companies in developing KAEC, one of the largest private sector led developments in the region. Huta Group has established credentials in the construction sector, and has already proven its capabilities in meeting the requirements of KAEC."
Mr Saleh Bin Laden added: "Huta Group is privileged to be part of this mega-development. We had introduced international-class engineering techniques in laying out the water canals and we will uphold the same high standards in constructing the two bridges."
KAEC, the largest private sector development in the region, has six zones spread over 168 million square metres. They are: The Sea Port, Industrial Zone, Central Business District (including financial district), Educational Zone, Resort District and Residential Communities. Work is progressing on schedule on the first phase of the project including the Sea Port, Industrial Zone, Resort District and Residential Communities.
