  • PRESS RELEASE

The Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young business Leaders (SME) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI).

The agreement calls for close and fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the area of small and medium-scale businesses.

Muneeb Abdulrazzaq Kazim Director - Special Projects SME, signed the agreement for his side, while the Chairman of the HIPMI, Mr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, also signed for his outfit in a short ceremony which was held on the fringe of a HIPMI forum currently being hosted by Dubai.

In a statement, Muneeb said:

"The memorandum of understanding signed with the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association calls for cooperation between the two countries in the areas of small and medium-scale ventures in a way that would serve mutual interest of the two countries. This cooperation will be through the sharing of information and entering into partnership between investors from the two sides in a way that would boost this cooperation and create new avenues for successful ventures between the two sides."

He added:

"The MoU is a significant step in support of the SMEs efforts to encourage young Emirates to venture into business not only within the UAE but also across the UAE borders in a non-traditional way. This stems from the fact that the SME believes in the need to diversify the business opportunities and services it provides to its members."

He expressed the hope that the MoU would be the beginning for the signing of more similar agreements for the benefit of UAE nationals.

Also he said in his opening address of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association forum, the SME was highly honored to receive members of HIPMI in Dubai.

He said:

"By organizing this meeting, our organization, which needs no introduction, seeks to, most importantly, create a conducive climate to provide consultation and professional support services to young businessmen and women.

We are meeting here today with our dear brothers - Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs - who are in the UAE to have first hand information about the possibility of entering into new ventures in this great country. It is also a great opportunity for us to meet and discuss about the most significant economic projects in which young UAE businessmen and women can venture to expand their businesses. This is just one of the many strategies of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders, which continues to exert more efforts to ensure the success of its members and partners to achieve greater heights in development and total independence."

He added:

"As you know, the UAE, particularly, Dubai, has become one of the fastest growing cities in the world in a way that has made it the attraction of investors looking for new places to expand their businesses, thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. In view of this, Dubai has proven to be the best destination for these investors as the city always opens its arms wide to receive them wholeheartedly and to offer them all the necessary facilities and incentives to start the businesses that brought them here."

"We all know that the UAE's economic achievements were built on a foundation that is based on the spirit of business initiatives, for which the UAE leadership and people have proven their prowess and excellence. This is in addition to the fact that the innovative economic projects established by UAE nationals have significantly contributed to the amazing growth that we witness today in this country. In spite of all these, the UAE continues to strive hard to occupy a higher place in the world economic arena."

He said today's meeting provides a golden opportunity for the two sides to sit and discuss issues of mutual interest. "We are here today to meet our dear brothers from Indonesia, to listen and discuss with them their great experience in economic development in various areas. This kind of meeting, undoubtedly, gives a major boost to bilateral cooperation and opens new avenues of economic activities for the mutual benefit of the two sides," he added and expressed the hope that the meeting would achieve its targeted objectives.
