BARWA Real Estate sign as Civil Defence platinum sponsor

BARWA Real Estate, the premier real estate company and major partner in the architectural renaissance in the state of Qatar, has signed a Platinum Sponsorship agreement with the General Administration of Civil Defence, Ministry of Interior.

The signing ceremony took place at a joined press conference yesterday, by Mr. Hitmi Ben Ali Ben Khalifa Al Hitmi, Deputy Chairman of BARWA Real Estate, and Col. Abdullah Jassem Fakhroo, Director of Prevention Department of Civil Defence.

According to this agreement, BARWA will be the Platinum Sponsor of Civil Defence activities which began on Civil Defence Day under the slogan "safety procedures for people with special needs".

The sponsorship will last for 12 months, until March 2009.

"BARWA Real Estate is honored to be the Platinum Sponsor of all Civil Defence activities for 2008. This is part of BARWA's social responsibility and support towards our society and its institutions," Al Hitmi stated.

"Our company is committed to supporting the security forces who provide safety and security to citizens and expatriates. Through our financial and spiritual support to the General Administration of Civil Defence, BARWA continually seeks to contribute to the growth and protection of our community," he added.

Speaking on behalf of the General Administration of Civil Defence, Colonel Fakhroo commented: "I duly appreciate the support and sponsorship of BARWA Real Estate to the Civil Defence events and activities for this year, which is done under the slogan of 'safety procedures for the people with special needs'".

"The functions and activities aim to show the importance of special needs citizens and their effective role in our societies. Besides, we seek to promote cultural awareness among officials and employers to take care of people with special needs, as well as how to deal with safety equipments in case of fire and other dangers", Col. Fakhroo concluded.
