Leading experts gather in Dubai for GE Healthcare Middle East Media Summit

The Middle East Media Summit, a one-day event hosted by GE Healthcare, the $17bn healthcare business of General Electric Company (GE), convened today at the Grosvenor House in Dubai.

The Summit commenced with a keynote speech by Nabil Habayeb, President and CEO, GE Middle East and Africa, followed by a keynote address by Richard di Benedetto, President & CEO GE Healthcare, International, Eastern and Africa Growth Markets region (EAGM).

At the one-day event, several leading experts in the healthcare field delivered presentations on a range of healthcare related topics.

Among the speakers were Dr Majid Al Fayyadh, Director, Invasive Cardiology Lab Cath Lab & Chairman, Electrophysiology Program, King Faisal Specialist Hospital; Mounir Kharma, Chairman, GlobeMed Ltd; Dr Mohamed Momtaz, Professor and Director of Fetal Medicine Unit, Kasr Al Aini Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt; as well as Dr Aly Abdel Razek, Director of the Center and fellow of the American College of Radiation, Abu Dhabi Cancer Treatment Center, UAE.

Key topics discussed included: the emergence of healthcare trends in the region; the management of healthcare funding and delivery; fetal medicine education and training; regional health burdens such as breast cancer and cardiovascular disease; as well as technological solutions.

The event was attended by up to 40 journalists from across the region.

The Middle East and North Africa region has one of the fastest growing healthcare sectors. GE Healthcare, with its 'Early Health' model of care, is helping medical professionals address the healthcare challenges facing the region.
