The programs will offer students the opportunity to investigate and explore topics of special interest to them through courses, presentations and discussions.
The program will also feature two WCMC-Q graduates as teachers in some of the courses being offered.
This summer, three programs are being offered by WCMC-Q; Qatar Summer Math & Reading Talent Scholars (Q-SMARTS), Qatar Future Doctors and WCMC-Q Pre-College Enrichment Program.
Qatar Summer Math & Reading Talent Scholars (Q-SMARTS) Program is one-week program providing courses and activities to help students entering 7th & 8th grade in the Fall to advance their mathematic and reading skills. Through computer labs, and participation in small tutoring groups, students will learn skills that will increase their confidence in these areas thus leading to better preparation for high school.
Qatar Future Doctors Program is a one-week course for students entering 10th to 12th grade. The program is designed for those interested in exploring the medical profession. Students will explore past, present, and future trends in medicine, read about the history of diseases and clinical practice, and will have the opportunity to discuss issues in the profession from ethics in research to public health awareness in the Gulf region.
WCMC-Q Pre-College Enrichment Program is a two-week course for students entering 10th to 12th grade. The course will provide academic and personal development activities to help students prepare for college by exposing them to academic enrichment classes in math, science, English, and computers as well as personal development courses in health & wellness, career exploration, and study skills.
