The service starts from 11:00 pm and continues through 05:30 am of the following day.

Engineer Eissa Abdul Rahman Al Dosari, CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency, said that this service has met a huge success and it is anticipated that around 655 passengers use the services everyday.

This indicates the service will be of benefit to a large number of passengers; a matter which motivates the Agency to develop such a service in the near future to keep pace with the development drive witnessed by the UAE in all fields.

A bus will leave every 10 minutes starting from 11.oopm up to 12.00 am (midnight), whereas a bus will leave every half hour starting from 12.00 am up to 05:30 am of the following day.

"Public Transport Agency is keen to provide optimum solutions and creative methods modeled on the latest concepts & strategies with a view to expand and develop the level of services provided. Such measures have to keep pace with the development witnessed by the UAE in general and Dubai in particular in all economic, business and tourist fields so as to meet a wide ranging requirements of tourists, visitors, shoppers and other hotel clients.

The night bus service is a smooth and easy transport system and is the only means of mobility in a city bustling with activities & events running up to late night hours, thanks to the political, economic, social & security stability. This open approach made the city a point of attraction to several individuals, and a melting point of various nationalities, cultures and religions.

"Public Transport Agency has deployed six buses for this purpose, driven by expert drivers, boasting a long record of expertise and years of experience in this field. These buses serve a line from Al Ghubaiba Station in Dubai to Al Jubail Station in Sharjah and vice versa. The Agency, in coordination with RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication Dep't, will make news ads in both Arabic & English as well as other languages. This will enable the coverage of the largest possible segment of residents in Dubai, affixing external ad stickers at Public Transport buses & roads as well as brochures about the service progress to be distributed to passengers all over stations.

"Unleashing this night service is a beginning of launching more services envisaged under the Bus Master Plan developed by the RTA to widen the scope and reach of public transport. The Agency is seeking to meet the rising demand for buses and meet increasing demand for public buses between Dubai & Sharjah, and raise the percentage of trips made by mass transit modes up to 30% through providing alternative mass transit modes that are of good quality, affordable and wide geographical coverage such that it can compete well with private vehicles. The Agency is also seeking to spread education and re-orient the culture and social outlook; such that it will contribute to streamlining traffic and reduce the percentage of traffic accidents.
