Emirates Bankers' Forum hosts high profile guest from the oil and gas industry

The Emirates Bankers' Forum, organised by Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, President Emirates Bankers' Forum, hosted, Mr. Hamid Jafar, Chairman of the Board, Crescent Petroleum and Executive Chairman, Dana Gas PSSC.

Mr. Jafar addressed the attendees on the latest developments in the petroleum and oil industry and its impact on the economies of the GCC.

He also stressed on the key role of the banking and finance industry in amplifying the positive impact of the oil price hike to further boost the economic prosperity of the region.

Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, welcomed the guests to the monthly meeting and thanked them for their continuous support to the Forum and said:

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank our guest Mr. Jafar for being with us today and for providing us with an interesting overview of the petroleum industry. The Emirates Bankers' Forum will continue to be the platform for senior executives from the banking industry to exchange views and get the latest developments in key issues that the regional and international markets are facing."


The Emirates Bankers' Forum also hosted Mr. Bill Foster, Executive Director of Mudara - Institute of Directors (IOD), who emphasised on the importance of corporate governance and directorship in Boards of the banking industry and said: "Every company should be headed by an effective board, which is collectively responsible for the success of the company. Nowhere is that more relevant than in Bank Boards of the region, which are currently experiencing strong project and investment led growth and a shortage of qualified professional independent directors."

The UAE Bankers' Forum is a monthly gathering presided by Mr. Suleiman Al Mazroui, for the veterans of the local and regional banking and finance industry.
