- PRESS RELEASE
TANDBERG, a leading global provider of telepresence, high-definition (HD) video conferencing and mobile video solutions, and Barco, a global leader in display and visualization solutions, announced their first jointly developed product - a tele-collaboration solution with 1080p high-definition video.
Organizations that scrutinize large amounts of rich data and collaborate in real-time among multiple locations, such as government, oil & gas and automotive sectors, will benefit from the integration of Barco's multi-windowing display systems with TANDBERG's high-definition video solutions.
Distributed teams can see and react to the complete picture all at once. Remote expertise can immediately be brought in through a common interface from any standards-based video system for live analysis and discussion.
"As decisions become more complex, they often involve input from a larger number of experts and data points" said Beau Wardak, General Manager, TANDBERG Middle East. "Together with Barco, TANDBERG is simplifying tele-collaboration for industries that rely on cooperation between multiple facilities to share and review complicated data. This collaboration-without-borders facilitates the ability to make smarter decisions faster."
With this tele-collaboration solution, multiple desktop applications and productivity software such as SAP can be integrated with telepresence to deliver complete situational awareness.
In addition, the flexibility to resize image windows that contain rich media content allows experts to focus on a particular scenario at any given point in a collaboration session.
"As leaders in the visual technology industry, we believe Barco's Windows desktop integration can render decision-making and collaboration between remote teams more user-friendly," said Michel Vandeplas, President for Barco's Presentation and Simulation Division.
"TANDBERG's ultra high-definition 1080p video allows teams to see remote colleagues in natural, life-like detail, and they will still have direct and easy access to the data they need to discuss."
The new custom solution includes TANDBERG's C90 Telepresence Engine and high-definition cameras, integrated with Barco's user-friendly XDS Control Center software suite.
This multi-windowing software runs on a variety of Barco platforms, including LCD panels, projectors and single- or multi-channel projection systems.
The latest and most impressive among these is the XDC-3000, a single-projector ten megapixel display system that allows its users to visualize multiple sources simultaneously in their native resolution.
