Mr. Al Khayyat commented on the opening of the company's network main site,
"Mena Telecom is implementing a WiMAX 802.16e network that puts The Kingdom of Bahrain at the forefront of global wireless technology, and it is only fitting that we have world-class network facilities to guarantee that our customers receive nothing but the best in terms of service, quality and customer care. This centre has been engineered to the highest international standards and we are very proud of what has been achieved."
Mr. Al Khayyat continued, "This world class facility will be an important centre for operations that will shape, control and constantly improve the performance of all aspects of the network. This centre includes a Call Centre, a Network Operation Centre, and leading experts in WiMAX and Internet Protocol (IP) technologies, plus a dedicated team of Motorola engineers and technicians who will continuously monitor and maintain network quality and reliability."
Bahrain has made its mark on the world map by being the first country in the Middle East to deploy a nation-wide 16e WiMAX network. This solution, in addition to many other benefits, also supports full mobility; users will be able to experience true broadband speeds while on the move, without getting disconnected. The mobility option is ready to be activated once regulations permit.
Mr. Cozzolino also commented on the opening, adding that this network site is "The world's first end-to-end WiMAX operation center", and achievement that Mena Telecom is proudly adding to its long list of accomplishments.
