The donation, The Second in two years, was presented by Mr. K.W. Kim - President of LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa and Mr A.H. Ba'asiri - Chairman of Fortune International to Mr Riad Kamal Deputy Chairman to the Welfare Association and Chairman of its fund raising and resources committee to fund its education programmes which aims at promoting quality education and technical learning in Palestine.
The Welfare Association is a private, non-profit foundation established in 1983 in Geneva, Switzerland, by a group of prominent Palestinian and Arab business and intellectual figures.
The Association is committed to assisting the Palestinian people in their efforts toward sustainable human development.
In the 25 years, WA has supported more than 4,000 projects guided by quality demand-driven and rights-based programming.
Valued at almost $300m, the projects have been implemented on-the-ground by hundreds of Palestinian NGOs in various development and emergency relief fields, creating community assets, building human capacities, and supporting humanitarian efforts.
