The meeting will be held at 11:00 am on 26 June 2008 at Al Dana 3 hall in the Gulf Hotel.

The meeting, to be chaired by the General Director of TRA, Alan Horne, is to present the newly approved charges under Batelco's Reference Offer and to present a program of work to review and update the non-charge elements of the Reference Offer. It is intended that the review will help to enhance the Batelco's service offer to other licensed operators. Senior staff from Batelco and TRA will be present to answer any related queries licensed operators may have.

Commenting on hosting the meeting, TRA's Market and Competition Manager Mr. Adel Darwish said:

"In order to ensure a clear understanding of Batelco's wholesale products charges we strongly encourage all licensed operators to attend this meeting. The newly approved Offer charges support price reduction in many areas. It is anticipated that these reductions will in some measure be passed to end-users and will further help the development of competitive supply and consumer choice at affordable and reasonable prices. The proposed further review of the Reference Offer is designed to ensure that Batelco continues to meet the requirements of the industry."

The Reference Offer is the basic offer by Batelco to other operators in Bahrain that allows these operators to provide telecommunications services to end customers as well as connect to Batelco's network so that their customers can communicate with Batelco's customers.
