Tanmiyat presents Urban Planning Awards at University of Sharjah under the patronage of Crown prince Sheikh Sultan Al Qassimi

The Urban Planning Award comes as a part of Tanmiyat's continued efforts to support education in the UAE by implementing worldwide scientific research practices and providing students with excellent and wide-ranging facilities.

Tanmiyat Group is committed to advancing the research and development activities that are carried out in the UAE. Through this initiative, Tanmiyat Group aims to provide students with the opportunity to sustain and promote best practices in the community and to empower students to put their skills to use for continued community development.

The restructuring of higher education in the Arab world is placing emphasis on scientific research at colleges and universities and re-evaluating the scope of student activities at these institutions in order to achieve a balance in the relationship between educational establishments and the labour market. A recent study showed that the UAE education budget for 2008 rose by 13% from 2007 to $7bn, the allocation for public and higher education was the highest allocation to any sector.
