Asiacell and Nokia Siemens Networks sign 2G network expansion frame contract

Nokia Siemens Networks and Asiacell Communication LCC, the first GSM company in Iraq, will extend their cooperation with a multi million dollar frame contract for the Iraqi operator's 2G network expansion.

Nokia Siemens Networks will also continue to provide the local support needed to run Asiacell's operations in Iraq.

With the radio network solutions provided by Nokia Siemens Networks, Asiacell will be able to reduce capital and operational expenditure while maintaining the high reliability of its network.

Nokia Siemens Networks local team in the country will be able to provide Asiacell a stable and reliable nationwide support network.

Nokia Siemens Networks will provide Asiacell the latest in 2.5G technologies based on the company's market-leading Flexi Base Station, the industry's smallest and most efficient multi-technology base station.

Flexi Base Station's unique design and architecture enables operators to minimize network deployment and operational costs, and its industry-leading energy efficiency underpins Nokia Siemens Networks' commitment to environmentally sustainable solutions for radio access networks.
