About Ducab
Ducab is jointly owned by the Governments of Dubai and Abu Dhabi (50% each), has one of the most modern manufacturing units in the region, occupying an area of 590,000 square meters of land in Jebel Ali, Dubai and nearly 200,000 square meters in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. Today, Ducab produces over 65,000 copper tonnes equivalent of low and medium voltage cables, emerging as the leader and the first choice of prestigious customers in the Middle East. Ducab's product range covers High Voltage cables up to 132kV, Ducab Powerplus Medium Voltage cables up to 33kV, Low Voltage power cables, control & auxiliary, wiring and lead-sheathed cables, Ducab-Smokemaster, Low Smoke and Fume cables, and Ducab-FR, Fire Resistance Cables.
Ducab is an ISO 9001:2000 certified company for both its factories. The Abu Dhabi factory was recently awarded an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certificate and an OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety certificate by BASEC (British Approval Services for Cables). The cables comply with and are approved to the full British Standard of the Loss Prevention Certificate Board (LPCB) and Lloyd's Register, UK. These certifications are the latest in a string of recognitions achieved by the company including a two time winner of Gulf Excellence Award, two time winner of Dubai Quality Award, Gold category 2004 & 1998.
Ducab was recently honored with the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) Chairman's Award for Outstanding Economic Value Creation in the Industrial Sector presented by His Excellency former prime minister of Singapore in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, other Sheikhs and high-ranking officials. The ICD Chairman's Award is the world's first initiative to recognize outstanding economic value creation and corporate excellence achieved through good governance.

About Institute of Applied Technology:
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi founded through Royal decree No. 32 in 2005 the Institute of Applied Technology as a corporate body with full financial and administrative independence
The establishment was an initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the armed forces. His Highness envisioned IAT as a world class system of career-based technical education that would produce the scientist, engineers, and technicians needed for the UAE.
The Institute offers with state-of the-art facilities and excellent support services a Career-based Technical Education (CTE) in English at the secondary and tertiary levels. The institute's five campuses are located in the United Arab Emirates at Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Ras Al Khaima and Al Fujairah; with its directorate located in Dubai. In addition, IAT encompasses higher learning start-ups in aviation, logistics and nursing.
Unlike the "old" Technical schools, IAT Curriculum maintains a rigorous core of English, Mathematics, Science, Arabic, and Islamic Studies. In addition to the regular strong secondary school curriculum, IAT offers advanced Applied Technology courses to train students in 21st century technology skills.
IAT's additional contractual obligation is toward young Emiratis - every student attending the learning campus will be afforded the opportunity to prepare for his post-secondary education by participating in a personalized work-integrated learning process.
The Institute is keen to strengthen national identity; through military education programs, and develop leadership characteristics with each student, and putting it on track in engineering and technology.
It is noteworthy that the Institute of Applied Technology for the delivery of an unprecedented level of education in the state has passed the 99% average level of 82% of students of the Institute exam year to measure efficiency of educational English language (CEPA).
Ultimately, IAT is determined to achieve the "Emiratization of Technological Careers".
