MSFNCA highlights FNC's role in national decision making

His Excellency Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MSFNCA), stressed on the importance of the constructive communication and interactive sessions held at the Federal National Council (FNC).

He praised the cooperation between the legislative and executive institutions, and the keenness of all parties to view the interests of the Nation as a priority.

Dr. Gargash reiterated the government's stance on the importance of the participation of all ministers at FNC sessions to respond to important questions brought up by the FNC members and to discuss critical issues that concern the UAE public.

At its 14th session, the FNC discussed a draft law on licensing of fertility centers in the UAE.

The Council also approved a Federal draft law regarding the National Center for Research and Documentation.

The Council also discussed modifying some legal clauses in Federal Law No. 3 of 1983 concerning judicial authority.

Dr. Gargash pointed out that the FNC members have shown commitment to constitutional principles and preset political standards while discussing critical issues.

He praised this commitment as serving the general welfare of the nation and helping in establishing real harmony between all political authorities in compliance with the legislations.

Dr. Gargash stressed on the FNC's right to discuss all public issues, including education, healthcare, investment and other matters that influence the Emarati society.

He said that the government works side-by-side with the FNC to find appropriate solutions to all problems, and added that the government is discussing the issues of inflation and its policy relating to the media.

Commenting on the session's proceedings, His Excellency Tariq Lootah, Director-General - MSFNCA, said:

"The government has always been keen to accord priority to issues that concern all members of the society and discuss them at the FNC. The government has been working tirelessly to create proper solutions for all these problems and challenges. This will help us in nurturing our achievements and strengthening future socio-economic growth as well as limiting the negative effects of such challenges on the nation's security."


He praised the high sense of responsibility shown by the FNC members and reiterated the role of the FNC in promoting a healthy political culture. He stressed that the constructive discussions at the FNC's last session will help in finding solutions that will strengthen the transformation process that the nation is undergoing.

The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MSFNCA) was founded under Federal Decree No. (10) for the year 2006. A milestone for the UAE, MSFNCA reflects the vision of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in shaping a new political culture for the country and further strengthening the political framework. The ministry will be responsible for promoting participatory political practices among citizens of the UAE.
