Kawther Kazim, Director of HR&D Department at RTA Corporate Support Services Sector, commented on the event by saying: "Through staging HR Day, RTA is seeking to create a platform for effective interaction between all employees, promote the awareness of HR, and open a window for discussion & dialogue in all matters related to performance and the culture of awareness.

"RTA will stage periodical gatherings of RTA employees and HR&D Department at intervals not exceeding three months. Each session will discuss one of the key issues related to HR&D Department in a drive aiming to realize the strategic HR vision set by Dubai Government aiming to raise productivity and enhance the role of employees in all community fields.

"HR&D Department staged the first session that linked RTA employees with Remunerations & Benefits Section at the Department during which a large number of participants debated the Management & Performance system.

The session also included several briefings made by Ali Mattar, Manager of Remunerations & Benefits Section, about the Management & Performance system, annual bonuses, and periodical increments. Participants also discussed the mechanism of grievances from the annual merit rating, and an open session was held for general discussion and replying to queries of employees.

"RTA is envisaging a steady increase in the number of participants in HR Day, and will therefore be keen to hold these sessions periodically. Sessions requested by RTA employees will be repeated to enable the largest possible number of employees to benefit from them. As to participation in these sessions, RTA will communicate with all employees well ahead of the date set through e-mail circulars to all RTA agencies & sectors about the fixed date and issues to be discussed, as well as requesting them to provide names of employees nominated for attendance.

"HR&D Department will forward a summary of the contents of the preceding session along with a guidance manual to participants, and carry out a survey about issues discussed in the session, with a view to upgrade the quality of work done. At the end of the session, RTA will present Certificates of Appreciation to all participants in recognition of their efforts to make successful participation" said Kawther in concluding remark.
