  • PRESS RELEASE

Mindware, a leading IT distributor in the Middle East, announced that it has finalised plans to relocate to its state-of-the-art warehouse facility from Dubai Cargo Village to Jebel Ali by the 6th of July 2008.

The move is in line with the company's expansion strategy and aims to leverage the excellent logistics capabilities and high-tech communications infrastructure within the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), which has emerged as one of the main drivers of the UAE's economic growth. Top Mindware officials further revealed that the rapid rise of business has required them to seek bigger space and a location that is closer to its clients to sustain its growth.

With a primary focus on strengthening its enterprise portfolio while attracting more clients, Mindware identified the outstanding opportunities the shift to Jafza will bring to its business. As a part of Economic Zones World (EZW), one of the biggest developers of economic zones, logistics and R&D-driven industrial parks, Jafza enjoys a strategic location next to Jebel Ali Port and a 30-minute drive from the Dubai International Airport. In addition, new developments at Jafza, including a new six-lane highway that will help minimise processing time for goods, are designed to make the free zone one of the world's most efficient sea-air hubs and attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) to the country.

"Our shift to Jafza marks an important development for Mindware, as this indicates the tremendous growth we have been witnessing during the past years,"

said Wissam Hajj, Operation Manager, Mindware.

"Moving closer to our existing and potential clients is part of our growth strategy, which is also centred on acquiring more business partnerships with global companies who are entering the UAE and the region through Jafza. Most importantly, we are looking forward to utilise Jafza's world-class infrastructure that are supported with quality value-added services and incentives to our advantage."

As the pioneer of the free zone model in the region, Jafza houses more than 6,000 companies from 110 countries, including 150 of the Global Fortune 500 companies. With aims to make Jafza more tenant-friendly, customer-centric, and service- and quality-driven, EZW has taken a number of initiatives to further enhance the free zone's service efficiencies such as the enhancement of its IT capabilities to match global standards. A multibillion-dirham South Zone expansion project was also initiated by EZW in 2005 to meet massive investor demands.

"Continuous improvement in our distribution services for our clients' high quality solutions, which in turn aid global industrial investors enhance their business, is the main thrust of our operations. We are positive that our new warehouse facilities in Jafza will play a major role in delivering better services for their benefit, while opening up more possibilities for us in terms of partnerships with leading global companies. In addition, we are also constantly looking to expand our product portfolio by adopting new brands and technologies to our current offerings, in line with our aims to achieve 20% growth in 2008,"
