Saudi insurance gains 24%

Saudi Arabia's insurance market has posted a substantial growth of 24% in 2007 as gross written premiums reached SR8.6bn compared to SR6.9bn in 2006, Arab News has reported. In 2007, 42 insurance companies were operating in the Saudi market, while 11 new insurance companies get full license in March 2008. General and health insurance accounted for 60% and 36% of total GWP, respectively.
