Being held for the fourth consecutive year in a row, the internship program gave interns an opportunity to acquire hands-on knowledge of key functions across IKEA Kuwait's business divisions.

"That we are amongst the most successful retail businesses in Kuwait is due to our business management competencies. Throughout the world, IKEA offices follow global best practices and our unique value-for-money philosophy is a part of all business functions, from product development and production, to distribution, merchandising and customer service," explains IKEA Kuwait General Manager Adel Al Shamali.

"We are glad to give interns an opportunity to learn about our unique work culture and learn the behind-the-scenes factors that bring us success."

The concluded program - which equipped the interns with in-depth know-how in sales, customer service, merchandising, communications and interior design - was the first of a series of four group programs to be conducted this summer.

IKEA is also partnering with LOYAC (Lothan Youth Achievement Center) to source deserving candidates for the insightful internship programs, which will hone the skills and business understanding of over 45 young Kuwaitis this year.
