Satair joins forces with Airbus for parts distribution

Satair has over 50 years experience in the business of providing innovative parts supply solutions to their customers.

The Centre includes an avionics and electronics repair station and provides state-of-the-art business centre services as well as office and storage facilities for original equipment manufacturers.

"The decision gives us proximity to our customers, which is essential when it comes to providing efficient supply chain solutions to enable commercial and technical support with optimised delivery lead times - the core value Satair aims to provide," says Satair CEO John Staer.

Joerg Helmerichs, director of the Airbus Material and Logistics Centre, said the signing of the contract marks the beginning of a long-term commercial relationship between the two companies.

"We are proud of the confidence displayed by Satair in joining our Vendor Village, a partnership that reinforces Airbus' commitment to serve the airline industry in the Middle East," he added.

The Airbus Material and Logistics Centre at the Dubai Airport Free Zone was officially opened in April 2008, giving Airbus closer access to customers and creating a quicker response to their needs.

Covering more than 3,700 square metres of floor area, the centre operates 24 hour a day, stocking more than 5,000 parts and 43,000 items at any one time for distribution to regional and worldwide destinations.

Dubai has one of the world's most modern and fastest-growing airports, serving more than 120 airlines flying to more than 205 destinations, making it an ideal location for a centre of this type.

Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer with the most modern and comprehensive family of airliners on the market, ranging in capacity from 100 to more than 500 seats.

Airbus has delivered more than 5,200 aircraft to some 210 customers worldwide and boasts a healthy backlog of around 3,600 aircraft for delivery over the coming years.
